My Little Rose: 9 months Old (39 Weeks)

This week you are so mobile. You are crawling. You are climbing; you are getting so much more active. You finally could get into a seated position by yourself and actual stay seated for a minute or two without falling over. YAY my darling girl you finally did it.

You also started pulling yourself up to your knees. You sometimes sort of make it to your feet but it isn’t steady at all. I knew it was going to be time to lower your crib soon. And now with you getting on your knees we had to do that quickly. Daddy and your brother helped lower the crib to the lowest setting. And now we can all breathe easier that you are safe in the crib again.

With you moving around so much you get many bumps and bruises, particularly on your head. So when I noticed a bump a few weeks ago by your eye I just chalked it up as another little bump you got. This week though it still hasn’t gone down, in fact it might even look a little bigger than it did. You can only really see it well in certain light and I kept talking myself into and out of going to the doctor. However google sealed the deal when I started reading about cancer and such. So I scheduled an appointment at the pediatrician to have it looked at tomorrow. Hope to god it is nothing and just my imagination.

You love playing with your brother and exploring his toys its so wonderful to see you together but now your brother is starting to get a little miffed and sometimes needs some space. To avoid hitting I have started to show my Little Cricket that he can help with the situation by simply asking you to stop (which doesn’t work yet because you don’t understand but I am helping move you to another area) or he can simply get on the chair or the couch out of your reach. Of course when he does that you want to follow. Poor baby girl.

You are getting more and more interested in what we are eating and your brother is eating. That coupled with your ability to eat your purees with more control I decided to start you on some small pieces of food this week. We started with banana for a few days and then introduced avocado. Mostly you played with it but that is the starting point.

Feeding you is still a little challenging. Grandma offered to help feed you dinner, of course she is encouraging your uniqueness and going with the flow of you spitting out your tounge all the time. Ahhh the indulgence of being the grandmother and not the mother. I love that she is a goofball with you though. You both are so cute together.
