My Little Cricket’s Delay: Uplifting Words from a True Gem

After having an off day, an off week, an off month. After feeling like you are drowning every single day. After having feelings of self-doubt and failure it is lovely to wake up to an email like this one from my mentor.

I wanted to let you know how much I have enjoyed getting to know you over the past few months. I see you and how you work tirelessly to get the support system set for Cricket. I am always so impressed by the wealth of knowledge you have acquired in such a short time. I have also watched your relationship with Cricket grow.

I know during this time it is difficult to reflect on anything and that it is sometimes necessary to surge forward and overcome any obstacle that comes your way. I thought I'd do a little reflecting for you and point out just how far you have come in such a short amount of time. This process is brutal and you have really showed up, put yourself in and have not been afraid to get your feet wet. It takes a lot to pull this off and stay sane.

I can say you are quickly pulling things together and creating such an amazing support system for Cricket. I am grateful for your willingness to be open about your feelings and honest about what you need. It takes so much courage to do that and you pull it off with such elegance. You have helped me see things from different perspectives and helped me grow as a person. But most importantly, I see you, and the amazing person you are.

I hope we stay in touch and get together more often.

Sending you much light and love,

And just like that my day is now that much brighter.
