Day 8: A Day of Attempted Forced Alleged Rest

And then I die.

This is becoming a common theme in my life. I run, I run HARD, and then I crash, and when I say crash I mean that I crash hard. And here I am the day after Christmas and I am sick. Bone achingly, sore throat, runny nose sick. Thankfully, with all the gift giving yesterday, there were lots of things for the kids to do and play with. And when they got a little nuts from being in the house too long (and all day yesterday) I coaxed the boys to take the kids to the park.

Even sick I don’t know how to slow it down. I made dinner, like I was supposed too, because I don’t know the meaning of slowing down obviously. It was my now famous and often requested homemade spaghetti. I even had a glass of wine, for medicinal purposes. It would help me sleep right. Mrs. Painters friends came by for dinner, because the more the merrier, and they brought with them a super fun new game. Which I couldn’t resist ignoring the early bedtime I needed to get a few games in. The new game was Ticket to Ride, we were in love, and it became our new current family obsession. We all grew up playing games as kids, but it was fun to teach Mrs. Fruit the art of strategy. She is determined to get good.
