Christmas Holiday – Day 11: Getting Ready for Phase 3

Tomorrow we are all leaving the house for various other fun. The Fruit family will be going with the parents back to Raleigh and we are venturing off to the Penn’s family house, Mr. Rogue’s really good friends that were only about two hours away. This morning I make my breakfast braid, a new kick butt recipe that is just divine for our parting breakfast.

We all spent the remainder of the day in various tasks of getting stuff ready packing, cleaning and organizing. I cannot say how happy we were in this house. From the quiet back porch to the many many rooms we could spread out in, to the fantastic kitchen to the huge family room that we could all sit in. Sure it was busy and filled to the brim with people and stuff, the entry way may have held too many shoes to count but this house held us for our holiday celebration

We had leftovers from every meal so thankfully no one had to cook today. But as something fun to go with our dinner I made blueberry pies with the help of my niece since I was still sick. I was moving at a glacial pace, but I was getting it done. With being sick and getting interrupted every 5 minutes but a childs needs or wants it took way longer than normal. We drew with the kids, played with their toys with them and Mrs. Fruit even managed to pull out a little prefabricated ginger bread houses she bought. SCORE.
