Family Road Trip - Day 12: Happy Thanksgiving in HOT HOT Florida

I was so drained yesterday, tired from going 190% for what seems like forever, so I asked Mr. Rogue to do both of my Little Roses night feedings. Of course I still woke up when she started grunting that she was hungry, but I was able to nudge the man and fall blissfully back asleep. So I woke up this morning feeling like a million bucks. AHHHHH sleep. I love it more than ever.

Mr. Rogue may have been a little more tired and less rested than he would have liked but I was SO THANKFUL. Mom made Mr. Rogue, as a special thanks, a huevo ranchero breakfast burrito. Which he totally loved.

Once breakfast was over we started opening gifts. You see my parents and Mr. Rogue’s parents live in different states so early in our marriage I worked out a system, we see my family one year for thanksgiving and Mr. Rogue’s family one year for Christmas… and then the next year we flip. It has worked out really well, and the in laws families are now on the same schedule. And so we are here in Florida, spending thanksgiving this year with my family, and since we won’t be seeing them for Christmas we are opening our gifts today.

It was totally awesome because my Little Cricket was really really into opening gifts, and helping everyone else open theirs. It was super cute. And the best part, my kid, like every kid on the planet, loved his boxes that the toys came in almost as much as the toys themselves. KIDS!?!?!

My mom and dad are hippies and travel across United States in an RV. Mom might have a small tiny little kitchen but she can still rock out a killer (with all the fixins) Thanksgiving meal; the turkey was cooked in a crockpot no less. Mr. Rogue and I filled our plates up high (two plates for me so nothing would get overcrowded and touch). My Little Cricket is still being a super picky eater so he had mac and cheese and my Little Rose is still on a liquid diet so she chewed on her frozen teething ring.

After dinner we lazed around. It was raining outside and with not much else to do my parents put on my Little Crickets new favorite movie. Our theme movie for the week, the Lego movie… everything is awesome. SIGH. To shake it up we also watched Frozen. And then we went back to our little cabin and we all crashed exhausted into bed at 8PM… big partiers that’s what we are.
