Family Road Trip - Day 9: San Antonio Botanical Gardens

The baby only woke twice in the night, mom made us an omelet breakfast, and dad did the dishes. We headed out of the house on our way to Sea World, the only problem is that Sea world for some reason is only open over the winter from 3-9. It was early, hours before the park was supposed to open, and the babies would never make it to 9:00 tonight. So we had to pull over and assess. Sea world wasn’t going to work, so we found something else, a botanical garden that had good reviews. So off we went.

This place was virtually empty. We saw only a few people. And so we wandered around. Took photos. And had a wonderful time. Different then what we originally wanted, but that is life.

It is SO FRIGGIN wonderful being around my family. Seeing them interact with my kids. Seeing the joy in both of their faces and they play and romp and gaze into each other eyes. I am so blessed in my life, so so very blessed. I know this. But the one thing that I am lacking is family. A whole family surrounding me, supporting me, loving me and my kids. Sigh, in a perfect world.

And then we were hungry. We went to the cafĂ©, I had read the reviews and that they were wonderful. Expect we got there, hungry, and ready to eat… and they were closed. We just cannot win today. We all raided the kids snack bag, ate enough to limp us along until we got home.

When we got home dad grilled salmon outside. With limited space in the trailer we turned on the TV for my Little Cricket. But by 7 the kids were ready for bed. We headed back to our cabin and then bathed the kids in the sink… because there wasn’t a tub. With the cabin being so so so small, and really nothing to do after we put the kids to bed. So we have been super lame, or super awesome, because going to bed this early feels wrong, but going to bed this early feels oh so awesome.
