Pittsburgh: The Oh So Awesome Children’s Museum

SIGH, as I was afraid it would happen my little two month old is now sick. Its just a stuffy nose and a tiny little cough but still. I know these things happen but it makes me feel guilty for taking this trip while she is still so young. It’s hard on her, its hard on me, my milk supply is going down, and now she is sick. We are having a blast but nothing is ever black and white anymore. I’m getting used to the grey.

We tried to come to the children’s museum a few days ago, on a weekend, it was too crowded so we left reasoning we would come back on a weekday when it would be much much less crowded. So today we got out of the house relatively quickly, we are getting much more efficient with our time management, and we headed to the children’s mecca. This place is so awesome. I totally wish we have something like this close to our house. Every room has so much for the kids to do. We played, we stopped to eat, and then we played some more. My Little Rose took a nap, and I even got to sit down a few times when my Little Cricket got engrossed in something and stayed still for more than a minute. My Little Cricket’s all-time favorite floor, the water room. This kid just LOVES LOVES LOVES water. That and all the engineering pipes and dams and levers, and whirling water vortex’s… we could have stayed on this floor all day and he would have been happy.

After 4 hours of running, and I mean running (I really get a workout with this kid) we were all getting hungry again. We decided on sushi. Ahhhh I love sushi. The food was so good, but when I tried to get a dish for my soy sauce… things got a little weird. First they brought me a huge carry out container, then a smaller one… this was a sushi place, I didn’t realize why it was taking them so long to bring a small glass dish. You would think it would be pretty standard after all. SIGH… we aren’t in Kansas anymore Todo.

I ate half my meal, which was delicious, with a baby on my lap. Near the end I handed my Little Cricket the laptop. 2 hour meals are hard for a two year old to get through after all. And he has really been such a good boy. It was late when we left the restaurant. Even later once we managed to get everyone home, cleaned up and in bed. Another amazing day, I crashed into bed exhausted. Maybe tonight I will get to sleep. With a stuffed up baby I am sure that is wishful thinking for sure.
