The Aquarium is a Gift

I adore nature, animals, plants, the wind and sun and beauty of it all. With children I don’t get out nearly as much as I used to. I was a big birder and would hike miles multiple times a week. I miss it.

Although I have a love hate relationship with zoos and aquariums, I choose to embrace the wonderful, fabulous learning experiences these places gift us and our children with. I have learned so much about animals from visiting the zoos and aquariums across the United States. We are members at the aquarium in Long Beach and go often. My Little Cricket grew up here, experiencing the wonder and the thrill of discovering something new. And I love sharing places like this with him. As he gets older I can only image the things he will learn being exposed to so much information. I hope I can raise a boy that becomes a man, who appreciates respects and helps to take care of the other inhabitants of our world.

Today my mother in law and I took the kids out to the aquarium. It was a big all day adventure and the kids both did fantastic. My Little Cricket and I enjoyed showing off our aquarium to grandma.

Afterwards we went to Outback and indulged in not only the blooming onion, but also a blooming onion burger. I just wish I could have eaten my burger hot… or even luke warm. Between taking care of the needs of my Little Cricket and my Little Rose I had to wait.

And Mr. Rogue and I are already talking about having a third child… I may never eat hot food again.
