What in the WORLD was I Thinking Shelping Up and Down a Mountain 8 Months Pregnant

Mrs. Dancer (my bestie), Ms. Sweetie (my bestie cousin) and I decided to do something fun today and as we were throwing around ideas the tide pools came up. Mrs. Dancer had found them a few months ago and I was excited to try. We looked up the tide schedules and planned our visit. It was a perfect day and my Little Cricket was having so much fun being outside on a hike. Going down wasn’t so bad, sure there were some rough rocky patches but with both Mrs. Dancer’s and Ms. Sweeties help we managed to get down to the beach without too much difficulty.

Of course once we got to the VERY rocky beach it was another half mile to the actual tide pools. Mrs. Dancer ended up carrying my Little Cricket most of the way, those rocks were hard on his little feet. And I found myself jealous that I wasn’t getting carried too. Once we got to the sand it was easier going and then finally we were there at the pools.

One of us stayed with my Little Cricket at the base of the pools, where the water wasn’t too deep and there was plenty of sand and water to play in. The other two headed out onto the slippier rocks and deeper pools. My Little Cricket had such an amazing time. I thought he might get bored or fussy, we were there for over an hour and a half but he had a riot looking, digging and playing with the various things he found.

Poor Mrs. Dancer dropped her phone in a pool of water just as we arrived, thankfully she grabbed it out right away and it seemed to be ok.

The tide pools were awesome, some of the best I have ever seen. I think because it is such a treck to get out there that they see less traffic than the easier to get to pools I have been too in the past. We found several beautiful anemones, lots of brightly colored sea urchins, sea slugs galore and millions of crabs. My little underwater camera came in quiet handy getting some awesome photos.

After we were done we stopped for a quick snack and some water before starting the climb back up to the top. JEZZ it was hard. Even with Mrs. Dancer and Ms. Sweetie taking on the bulk of the bag and baby duty I still had to take several breaks before we finally made it back to the car.

By this point we were STARVING. We found a cute little dinner, the Black Bear, and I proceeded to make my way through the most amazing burger I have ever had. A Swiss cheese, avocado covered delicious pile of awesomeness. With the fabulous tide pools, the awesome burger and the three hour nap my Little Cricket and I gnabbed when we got home it was the all-time perfect day.
