Rogue Baby #2: OBGYN Appointment – 29 Weeks Pregnant

It was a quick visit to my OBGYN today. The doctor managed to find my little girls heartbeat this time in under a second. My blood pressure and blood work continue to be good and normal which is a relief. And I still have gained only a little weight. I am only up 4 pounds from my pre-pregnancy weight which I am happy about since I didn’t lose all the baby weight from having my Little Cricket two years ago.

The biggest news that I wanted to discuss with my doctor was my 3 hour gestational diabetes results. I knew from the nurse when I called in a week ago that I had passed but I didn’t know if I passed by a point or by a large margin. My doctor told me I was a rock star and that if she could she would give me a smiley face and a gold star. Apparently all my numbers fell pretty much right down the middle which is exactly where my doctor likes them to be. As an added precaution my doctor also ordered a A1c, which apparently is a number of how your blood sugar has been over the past three months. That number came in at a great number showing me as not being diabetic, or even at risk for diabetes anytime soon which is awesome.

And then on that high cloud of happiness my doctor complimented me on being such an awesome laid back patient.

Gold star, a smiley face and a high five from the doctor. It’s a good day!
