The Getty Villa with Ms. Sweetie

I have been to the Getty a million times. Its beautiful and huge and has amazing views of the city and the ocean. It’s a go to place I take out of town guests and well with the awesome gardens and incredible art I love going there often too. But forever I have been meaning to get my butt to the Getty Villa, a smaller more intimate mansion turned museum off the coast in Malibu. Today finally Ms. Sweetie and I made plans to go see this little gem. Its about time.

We went to the gardens first, mostly so I could let my Little Cricket run around a bit before attempting the quieter, calmer, stroller necessary museum. Although not as extensive by far the gardens were beautiful. I loved the long open hallways on either side of the pool. Everything was hand painted and hand carved and oh so beautiful. I would blissfully LOVE a house like this. My Little Cricket mostly cooperated with us which was such a joy. He listened and he stuck close. I think his favorite part were the ponds full of Koi. He kept pointing out the fish to us. So cute.

After about 2 hours in the gardens we snapped my Little Cricket into the stroller, gave him a snack and headed into the museum. There was a ton of Greek statues and lots of old jewelry and pottery. We even managed to find a kids play room, not exactly amazing, but hey it was something. All in all it was a great day. If I can’t travel I may as well see things in LA I have never seen.
