Where My Little Family Indulged in the Most Unproductive Two Weeks we Could Manage

My husband has been working incredibly long hours at work and we know that is going to continue at a horrendous pace until mid-October of 2015. He is already exhausted, and that is only going to get worse as the months continue. I am pregnant, and trying to stay rested and hydrated and healthy so this baby has the best chance at being delivered safely. Mr. Rogue got two weeks off of work for Christmas break. Normally we are crazy traveling or crazy entertaining, but with how matters stand we decided to just stay home. A wonderful quiet family stay-cation.

We talked about going to do a little 3 day mini trip. But then that never happened. We talked about going to the zoo, or seeing the lights at Disney, or heading down to the beach to dip our toes in the water. But that never happened either. Instead we played with our son. We took lots of long naps. We hung out in the backyard and bbq’ed in our sweats. We ordered lots of take out, we watched lots of movies, we read tons of books and tickled toes and soft little bellies and showered ourselves with baby giggles.

It may have not been the most amazing thrilling soul satisfying holiday ever but it was relaxing, it was indulgent, it was healing and maybe it was just what we all needed.
