A Birthday Beach Crab

This afternoon all of us piled into three cars and headed for the beach. Visiting the sunny beach in November is a novelty our out of town guests just didn’t want to miss. We laid out some blankets, the kids played in the sand and three brave little beasts even took on the freezing cold water.

We stayed until sunset, until the cool air drove us back to change and to our warm cars. But I stayed just a little longer. I can never resist a beautiful sunset over the beach. And then I got dragged away, everyone was ready, we had dinner reservations to get too.

For dinner we were off to Joe’s Crab Shack, a little surprise reservation to celebrate Mr. Pittsburgh’s birthday. Of course everyone loves seafood and crab, except me. Well I do love seafood; unfortunately it does not love me. Thankfully the kitchen was able to put something together for me; grilled chicken, some broccoli pasta alfredo or other. The food was just ok, but the laughter and fun at a full table of family was amazing.
