The Westwood Pumpkin Patch

This afternoon my Santa Monica mom’s group organized an outing to go to a pumpkin patch. I was super excited to go, I love Halloween, but we didn't even make it out of the parking lot before having blood split. I had my Little Cricket out of the car seat, I was gripping his hand while trying to get my bags out of the car and lock the door. In that process my Little Cricket squirmed his hand out of my hand, and in panic I whipped around. We were after all in a parking lot. I accidentally knocked my Little Cricket down, he fell and bruised the crap out of his nose.

So we started our outing at the pumpkin patch in the parking lot, me seated on the street, my bags and keys scattered around me, my Little Cricket hurt and sobbing in my arms. It wasn't a good start.

Finally we got into the pumpkin patch. It was sadly lame. There weren't any people, most of the booths were closed and the pumpkin patch was a few bales of hay and some scattered pumpkins. My Little Cricket however is easy to please. A few little jumps in the bounce house and a little time playing in the wagon and he was one happy boy. It was adorable to see all the little kiddos in their costumes. Since my Little Cricket had a full felt costume and since it was a super warm day we just stuck to his holiday gear.
