I Feel a Little Like Humpty Dumpty

Life has been magnificent and hard. Things tend to go amazing in most of my life, but then I fixate on the things that aren’t going well. Lately I have been feeling like Humpty Dumpty.

Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall,
Humpty Dumpty had a great fall.
All the kings horses and all the kings men
Couldn’t put humpty together again.

I have been reciting the above poem to my Little Cricket for months now. It is both funny and terribly sad. I have been having some tendon trouble. I have planters facituiis in both feet that is getting better but isnt completely gone yet. And a few months ago I got tennis elbow from carrying my son. I have been babying my arm, carrying my son in my opposite arm and making sure not to strain it too much. I also wear a brace on my arm every single day. But being one armed is annoying. I have also been taking it easy on my feet, which means keeping off of them as much as possible so they can heal. Its been a year now and they are still not 100% better.

Because of the lack of exercise, I have gained most of my pregnancy weight back, that I had lost a few months after my Little Cricket was born.

In frustration I spoke to my doctor who cleared me for doing light walking, after I got new shoes. So today I went to the running store he recommended. The guy watched me walk, felt my foot and arch and then came back with four pair of shoes that he wanted me to try. They were all super supportive and made especially for people who have planters faciitis. Boy does that guy know what he is doing. All of them felt good but two felt AMAZING.

I was so excited about the new shoes that on the way home I stopped at the park and took my Little Cricket for a little walk. We didn’t go far, only a mile. But it felt fantastic to be outside and walking again.
