Rediscovering the Farmers Market

I go to the farmers market for months and then because I get so busy, or lazy (its hard going to multiple stores) I stop, and I forget for a little while just how awesome the farmers market is. Its like temporary amnesia, I am content with the organic produce at my grocery store. And that contentment lasts sometimes for months. And then something will make me go back. Whenever I do break and return to the farmers market again I go a little nuts. That first trip is always a doozy. Everything looks so wonderful. The colors, the sounds, the smells, all the wonderful things I get to taste all overwhelm me. I just get overcome by all the yummy delicious looking fresh food and go a little nuts.

P.S. Mr. Rogue is now obsessed with the blood red orange juice I snagged him.

At least, when looking at how much food I have on my counter, I can rationalize to myself that at least now I am cooking for more than just me. I have a man and a baby and both of them love my homemade from scratch cooking. For my Little Cricket I made today vegetable stock, applesauce, sweet potatoes, purple potatoes, roasted red pepper, beets and cauliflour. I also got a bunch of beans that I left to soak overnight so I can make large batches of some delicious bean soup and homemade hummus to freeze.

And then I whipped up a little lasagna with my free time. I just LOVE being a stay at home mom. Days like today are my happily ever after in real life!
