BBBS 67: Christmas Shopping Adventure

My Little and I just reached our five year anniversary. When I asked her what she wanted as a special gift she said an iTouch. I agreed to get both her and her sister one as a joint anniversary/Christmas gift. What I didn’t think about was how her mom would feel. Being a big is sometimes so hard. In the end her mother and I talked, and although me offering to purchase her a gift was generous, it was not appreciated. Totally my fault. Regardless, moving forward I need to make sure to clear all ‘gifts’ with mom first. Which is only right. Newbie-big mistake.

So for the girls gift we went shopping, because what teenage girl doesn’t want more clothes. I gave them a budget and offered to either take them to the mall to get a few things or to Ross or Target so they could get many things. After a few minutes of whispers back and forth the girls picked Ross. Good job girls, more bang for your buck!

Their taste in clothes is pretty different than mine. Of course they are 22 years younger than me. But it was a revelation. All of a sudden I am old, no longer cool or hip or whatever the new term is now. I had to laugh inside, because seriously… SERIOUSLY is this really happening to me!

Anyways the girls are adorable, they are growing up so fast and thriving. Although I don’t get to see them as often as I like, especially with being a new mom, I am so happy that I have stuck with the program.
