BBQ is Our Weekend Mode of Operation

To make it easier on us the Fruit family came out to our place to visit the family and have an impromptu barbeque. The boys grilled pork chops, hot dogs and corn on the cob while the girls hung out inside with the kids.

It was a no fuss no muss kind of meal at least for me. I baked a pie the night before and simply bought the potato salad. Mr. Rogue handled making the guacamole and we even settled on simple paper plates. Not my usual Martha Stewart kind of meal but I have to say when I stop freaking out for a minute that everything isn’t homemade and perfect I am secretly momentarily embracing this lazier laid back me.

To keep the kids entertained I brought out some construction paper and scissors. I love being crafty and apparently Ms. Bambi loves being crafty too. While we sit adults sit around the table and talk I work on some fun things with Ms. Bambi. Today I drew some animals that she cut out and then I made mustache face masks for the girls. I love being crafty and artistic and hope my Little Cricket and I can have fun with crafts. Paper, imagination and scissors is the best toy ever!

The paper cutouts looked like a hit with the kids. I'm so glad you've kept up with your crafty side.
