Our First Family Picnic at the Park

One of the things that I want to do early-on is to make sure we go out as a family on the weekend at least once. It doesn’t have to be a big fancy outing, in fact simple can sometimes be even better. Of course it’s a pain in the butt to get a baby out the door, all the stuff that they need is ridiculous.

Today Mr. Rogue and I ventured out to a nearby park to take a walk and to have a picnic. I decided not to go all crazy making picnic food, instead we kept it simple and just swung by Subway.

It was a lovely day and just leaving the house and being outside was a big treat with a newborn. We had fun making sure to keep our Little Cricket in the shade. The poor kid got my super pale, sensitive to sun, sensitive to everything skin instead of Mr. Rogue’s golden never gets burned skin.

It took us a while to find the tree we wanted. We kept circling around the park, that tree was too small, that tree didn’t have nice grass under it, that tree offered spotty shade and that tree was too near the very loud picnic area… until finally we found our tree!

We laid out our bright red picnic blanket and proceeded to relax for the next two hours. It was simple and lovely and perfect. I especially loved digging my toes in the grass. But most of all spending time bonding with our new little member. It is still a shock sometimes to realize that all my dreams have come true and he is actually here.

And after we all ate, and spent some time taking a hundred photos we all laid back, looked up at the sky and talked quietly while drifting off to sleep.

We had such a great relaxing time we plan on going next week. A perfect way to spend a Sunday afternoon.

That looks like a Vanity Fair shoot with the Brangelinas. You definitely have her boobs!

I love picnics, a walk in the park, and just relaxing with the one I love under a shady tree. NICE OUTING!
