Baby Brain: Shadow Boxes

I was struggling in the nursery with what to do on the last wall as far as art goes. I already had a wall of an arrangement of pictures and paintings and since this particular wall was near the bathroom door I didn’t want to put a piece of art that protruded out too far. Finally I settled on the perfect thing, I got two shadow boxes, one to create a before baby was born, and another that’s blank right now, that I will finish after the baby gets here.

I am really happy with how it turned out. There are a bunch of cute little memorabilia and photos that make me smile. In the upper left hand corner I put a photo of both Mr. Rogue and I as newborns. Next to that I put the photo of the Brave cake and the Brave cake ring that was embedded in the cake that Mrs. Dancer brought me when I was feeling crappy taking the fertility medicine that I got pregnant on. Then the very first ultrasound of our little cricket along with the oh so long awaited positive pregnancy test.

Under that in the middle section I have the three trips baby and I took. First to Vegas with Ms. Sweetie and Mrs. Dancer, then to Monterey Bay with Mr. Rogue and finally my most recent trip to San Francisco with Ms. Pool Shark.

Then along the bottom on the left side is my super cute Owl shower invitation and the cropped little blue thank you card I sent out. And on the right is an adorable necklace Mrs. Bulldog gifted me with at the baby shower that made me cry. It says “For this child I prayed”. And boy oh BOY did I pray for this baby! The last piece is a photo of me holding my ultrasound picture with my baby bump in the background which Mrs. Dancer took for me a few days ago.

I love how it turned out and can’t wait to see how the after shadow box turns out. Yay for crafting!
