Baby Brain: OBGYN Appointment

This week my doctor was happy that I finally gained weight. After months of no weight gain I am now up two pounds! I got an ultrasound and again the baby is summersaulting. He was down last ultrasound but now he has flipped and is diagonal with his head resting on my hipbone and his legs tucked up under one side of my ribcage. The doctor isn’t concerned yet however at 37 weeks and 4 days the baby should be getting in position with his little head nestled in-between my hipbones; which also means that the baby hasn’t ‘dropped yet’. For now he still has time to get into place as long as he does it quickly.

I also still haven’t had a single contraction, not even the practice Braxton Hicks contractions. Those practice contractions are important to get your body ready but some women just don’t get them until the actual labor starts. Thankfully I am still pretty comfortable and am carrying the baby well without any new pains other than being tired all the time. My water weight, puffiness in hands and ankles, is also really low which I attribute to all the time I get to rest. I cannot imagine how you women are pregnant with a full time job.

The heartbeat of our little cricket is good and strong and I always love to see his little face on the ultrasound. Forever wiggling he was again not very good at staying still for the doctor to take her measurements. But that is just the MO of my little guy.
