When You Don’t Listen

Lately my nesting instinct has been roaring. I want everything neat, organized and clean; in particular I am focused on the nursery but nothing seems to be outside my realm of IMPORTANT to clean this instant. That is how I ended up scrubbing the stairs when I had already done a ton of cleaning that day. Halfway through I knew I was tired, I knew I should stop but I was halfway done and well I wanted it finished.

Hindsight is a worthless thing. I should have listened to what my body was telling me instead of trying to achieve some goal I should have stopped. After all the steps weren’t going anywhere any time soon. The dirt would be there later, or even tomorrow.

I ended up finishing the steps and then I figured since my body was aching to reward myself with a nice hot shower and a nice long nap. I woke up to the most horrible back pain; seems like I pulled a muscle in my back. I went to bed in a little pain and I woke up two hours later unable to bend. AWESOME.

My back is now thrown out. I cannot take medication for it instead I am following my doctors’ advice and resting alternating with a heat pad and some ice. Looks like the next couple of days I will be couch surfing, catching up on my reading and watching even more television.

Adopt my mom's saying: "Although you find our house a mess, come in, sit down, converse. . . . .
It doesn't always look like this, some days it's even worse!" lol.

With a little one in the house, it will help to keep this in mind, as the house will not always be spic and span.
