Sewing Machine Debacle

Since my sewing machine still wasn’t working after I replaced the broken bobbin holder and since I couldn’t figure out what else to check via the internet I decided it was time to take it to the doctor. Some things are just beyond my scope of ability. According to google it was either a timing issue or a bent gear. Either of those issues needed a professional. So I dropped it off at a fix it place around the corner and prepared to wait.

Two days later I got the call, it was a bent gear and it would take two days to fix. After picking it up and getting home I started hauling on the curtains again. Sure my schedule was now 6 days behind but I would just do what I could to catch up. I don’t want to push too hard and overtire myself but at the same time I knew it wouldn’t be any easier to finish the curtains with a new baby in the house.

What I learned from my fix it guy is that when sewing very heavy fabric (as in three folds of a jean material thick) that you have to go very slowly. The fabric I was sewing when the machine broke for our bedroom curtains is super thick and I guess I was asking too much out of my machine.

Now I am continuing the bedroom curtains by going very slow. So far so good!
