Baby Brain: Nursery Room Curtains

The nursery is coming together. Most of the furniture is here but I am still waiting for the rug. It was backordered, then backordered again, but now I am being reassured that it will be here in two weeks. Originally I was waiting until the rug got in the room to decide what material I wanted for the curtains but as my time is now getting short I decided to just go ahead and start the curtains. Which means I needed to shop for the material.

With the woodland theme I have going in the room I knew I wanted a fabric that was a little natural, like a hemp type. And with the pale green walls, white furniture and cream and wood accents I thought a pale brown, cream color would work best. Ms. Pixie and I while running errands stopped at Joanne Fabrics and dug through all their materials. Out of everything two caught my eye. One was a burlap plain brown material that looked really natural earthy. The other was a slightly creamier tan with an overlay of paler leaves. In the end I texted Mr. Rogue a photo and he voted for the leaves. I was still trying to decide but then Ms. Pixie said she liked the leaves better as well. I was a little worried that the leaves, along with a slight shimmer to the cloth might be too girly but with two votes and me being on the fence I decided to just go with it. If I didn’t like the finished product I could always change it later.

So another thing off the list. The nursery room curtain material is purchased and now as soon as I am done sewing the Master Bedroom curtains I can get the babies room done.

I agree, the leaves look better. The other fabric looks like burlap to me.
