Rolling Up the Sleeves

I feel like I have been rearranging things in this house for centuries, don’t worry it has really only been for about six months. When we decided to let Ms. Pixie move into our spare bedroom I had to find a place for all the books and extra blankets that I had in that closet. Soon after we found out that we were pregnant and that meant that the hobby/craft/camera room would need to be converted to a nursery so all that stuff needed a new home as well. In the end to manage I had a platform built in the attic for long term storage, we bought a few pieces of furniture to house some of the books and by reorganizing the computer room closet and the exercise room closet I managed to find homes for most of our stuff.

STUFF so much stuff, seriously I just moved out to LALA land with only one carload of things eight years ago. Mr. Rogue moved out here with only a few suitcases ten years ago… HOW in the world could we have already accumulated so much stuff!

Anyways some of our memory bins will be going into long term storage in the attic. And since I am on a lean mean cleaning/organizing mission I wanted to make sure a good majority of that stuff (at least the photos) were scanned. Backups of precious memories in digital format so if there were God forbid a fire I could still have our photos.

While digging through Mr. Rogue’s memory bins he found a pile of old photos and OH MY GOODNESS he was so adorable. One little photo in particular of him with Mickey Mouse I especially adore.

Mr. Rogue has told me that he was a white haired blonde when he was young, he is sandy brown now, so when I close my eyes I always see my little boy looking like Mr. Rogue; blonde hair and green eyes. All the details used to be vague… now however I see the little boy from the photo above. Every. Single. Time. I cannot seem to get the image out of my head. I am sure he will therefore come out with my brown hair and brown/hazel eyes.

Regardless there were a few other photos, funny enough most of the photos Mr. Rogue has of himself his shirt is off. Both of my favorites were one of those; my adorable husband as a young man.

Now I am chomping at the bit to get a hold of Mr. Rogues family albums. Mrs. Faith is an avid scrap booker so I am sure she has a ton of photos I can scan. I will have to wait until I fly to North Carolina next time to get my hands on them. Until then I am enjoying my little window.
