Ringin’ in the New Year

I knew being five months pregnant that I didn’t really want to go out to a club or a bar. New Years in LALA land can be crazy. But I also didn’t want just to sit out Mr. Rogue and my last New Year sans baby without doing SOMETHING. While talking with Mrs. Dancer a few weeks before, she decided to throw a small get together. It was perfect, plenty of seats a bathroom close by I wouldn’t need to wait in a long line for, drunk friends instead of random drunk idiots I thought I could tolerate and best of all only eight minutes away!

Mrs. Dancer went all out on the decorations, hats, lighting, food and fun. I ended up having a fantastic time, it was the perfect New Years night. There were eight couples with us, which was just the right number to get a chance to talk to everyone and play some games. Not too crowded and not too small. Perfect was the theme of the night.

As it got close to midnight we turned off the radio and crowded in front of the television. We decided to watch the New York extravaganza and ball drop. They had all the best entertainment shows of the year playing as well as shots from Times Square. Everyone readied a flute of Champaign a few minutes before the ball fell, me with my sparkling glass of juice. In the photo you can’t even tell the difference between my glass and theirs. The ball fell, a cheer rang up, confetti flew and kazoos went off in glee… except the kazoo glee ended in a full scale kazoo war! I haven’t laughed that hard in a long time. I was literally in tears. Ahhh friends and laughter keep us young!

Happy New Year to one and all! May it hold hope, passion, spirit, and love for you and all those you hold dear.
