A Happy WeHo Halloween

I feel so terribly UNFUN. Ms. Pixie my niece has now been living with us for over a month and I have barely been able to pull anything out of me to entertain her. So when Mrs. Dancer suggested we all take ourselves out to WeHo for the Halloween parade I knew that I was just going to have to suck it up, put a smile on my face, and have a good time. If not for Ms. Pixie I doubt I would have made it out the door.

ROGUE’S COSTUME WAS A GOOD DEAL EASIER THAN MINE

Usually big into planning some crazy costume I had to temper a costume idea to simplicity. I ended up choosing to go as a Day of the Dead person. I could wear black, I could sweep up my curly hair without having to blow dry it, and the only real work involved me sitting for two hours painting my face which was pretty low key. In the end after much debate Ms. Pixie decided to go as the same thing, with her own little funky twist. She even borrowed one of my skull poofed skirts from my random costume Halloween bin.

I was worried with the walking, I was worried how I would feel, I was worried I wouldn’t have fun and you know what - all those worries were useless we all ended up having a great time. I didn’t get tired, the walking was super slow with many breaks and the people watching was of course fantastic. In LALA land people really do it up for Halloween. These are my people and there were so many great great costumes out there. I didn’t bring my nice camera, which is a normal for me being lazy during the past couple weeks, anyways I did have my small point and shoot and here are some of my fav costumes of the night.

Of course aside from the people, all the food and tons of picture taking there was also live music and djs from radio stations making us all laugh. A little scary maybe for a young southern girl… there is nothing like jumping into the crazy feet first! I tried to drag Ms. Pixie on stage but that is when she got really terrified. Ahhhh the smile I got on my face with her reaction.

We ended up getting there just as it opened and we left just when the crowds were getting really crazy. It was a great memorable night. Yay for us and yay for fun!
