Baby Brain: Symptoms Full Force

My mother says that each pregnancy is different and OH BOY was she right. The older I get the more my mother’s knowledge makes sense and is appreciated… go figure. Anyways with my first pregnancy (miscarriage at 16 weeks) I had symptoms, very mild sypmtoms. Sure I was a little nauseous, sure I was a little tired, but I was going going going all the time and I wasn’t really deterred that much from my current lifestyle. This pregnancy is a whole other ball of cheese. I am so exhausted I can barely get my butt out of bed after sleeping 12 hours. I am so nauseous that I am getting car sick and I am even feeling car sick while lying on the couch. It is only week 8 and this pregnancy is kicking my butt.

The first pregnancy I craved hamburgers like an alcoholic craves gin. As in I HAD TO HAVE ONE every single day. The funny thing is that I am not a huge fan of red meat, and even less of a fan of burgers. I maybe would have a few a year, not every single day. Maybe my body was craving the iron, but crave it did.

This pregnancy it is all about Velveeta Shells and Cheese. I know, I know super healthy right – listen we don’t get to pick what we HAVE TO HAVE here folks. Craving is almost too mild of a word for the frantic need to have some. I only barely manage to limit myself to one serving… if I let the inner beast have its way I would be eating this for breakfast, lunch and dinner!

I have a theory. Since I found out I was allergic to milk products four months ago I pretty much cut out all dairy products. Sure I would sneak a tiny dash of cheese on my burrito or a little milk in baked goods but for the most part I have been pretty good about cutting dairy products out all together. Maybe then I am not getting enough calcium, or maybe my cheese loving soul is just so bummed at the cheese embargo I have had for the past four months it just decided to revolt. Baby wants cheese and cheese it will have.
