Baby Blue Comes to Play

Usually at night I turn my phone completely off. Between the texts, phone calls, face book messages and emails my phone would end up keeping me up all night. If there was an emergency and someone needed to get a hold of me in the middle of the night we would have a problem but I find getting a good night’s sleep is important to my soul. No one likes a crabby Mrs. Rogue, believe me.

However exceptions are made and I have been glued to my phone for the past three weeks to make sure I got the call. Mrs. Rambo is having her second child and since she does not have family here I offered to take Baby Blue while she was in the hospital. Of course Mrs. Rambo has family flying in for the birth but they are going to be with mama and the new baby at least at first. Besides then I get to borrow a little two year old and there is NOTHING cuter than a baby!

I was anticipating a call deep in the night but in the end I got the call bright and early 6:00am that Mrs. Rambo’s water broke. Although six am doesn’t sound like the middle of the night for me it is. Since I live on a skewed schedule of going to bed at 1 and not waking up until 11. Regardless I did happen to go to bed early that night so at least I wasn’t completely destroyed.

I got Baby Blue to my house where we ran and played and ate and jumped and screamed and blew bubbles. Energy is defined by a two year old. I wonder if a new workout fad could be to try to attempt everything your child does in a day. I am sure you would burn so many calories.

Finally after naptime I ran out of fun things to do at the house and Baby Blue was bouncing off the walls. It wasn’t a super nice day out plus I haven’t spent a ton of time scoping out the local parks yet so I took Baby Blue to the mall, where they have an indoor romper room of chaos. I usually go here during the week, during the day when everyone is working; Saturdays there are 20 times more kids. We only stayed an hour but the amount of energy expelled coasted us through to the end of the day. WHEW!!! By the time I gave her a bath and read her her stories I was nodding off. Thank goodness she was as tired as I was. AHHHHH sleeping with a little one… priceless.

It looks like little Ms Blue was feeling a little blue, was she crying when you got her? Understandably a bit of chaos, but I'm glad things worked out.
