Ironman Shopping Extravaganza

So late late last night Ms. Ivey flew into town to visit with me and Mrs. Dancer. I know, I know I haven’t seen Ms. Ivey in two years and then all of a sudden I get to see her TWICE in less than two weeks. We didn’t actually plan it this way, I knew that hopefully Ms. Ivey would be flying into town this summer, if everything worked out, and thankfully she managed to come. However I didn’t know it would be only six days after my hurried trip to Charlotte to see my mom and dad. It just so happened that with everyone’s busy schedules that was the ONLY week that worked for all three of us. I am not going to complain, it was just more Ivey time, and more Ivey time is always happy time.

APPLE AND CINNAMON PANCAKES WITH BACON IN THE BACKYARD

With Ms. Ivey being on east coast time, and with her used to getting up very early for her job, I was worried she was going to wake up super early. Thankfully we both rolled out of bed around 8:30. We had a leisurely morning at home, I made apple pancakes and lots of yummy bacon. We have a tradition, that has been going on for YEARS, of going shopping at Ross (a discount clothing store) and then to eat at the Cheesecake Factory. And when I say we go shopping I mean SHOPPING. As in a triathlon; as in a marathon, meets survivor, meets what not to wear.

HEY IT ISNT BLOOMINDALES BUT ITS TRADITION

WE SURE FILLED UP THAT CART

Competition to dig through the racks and find that perfect dress is fierce. All I can say is thank goodness my feet are a different size, Ms. Dancer and Ms. Ivey share a shoe size... you should have seen the cat fight. Just kidding  they sort of share... sort of!

ON MS. IVEY SURE DOES LOVE HER SHOES TOO

Of course we all had a mountain of things to try on. Ms. Ivey and I are speed dressers. We can try on eight dresses, the maximum you can take into the dressing room, super fast. Mrs. Dancer on the other hand needs a bit more time. She is a try it on and think about it for a WHILE type. Although frustrating its soooo her. Don’t worry she’s adorable, we still love her!

SO CUTE

So while we are waiting I tried on a few, ahem, funny outfits. My favorite was a zebra print one piece that I totally ROCKED. I really did think about buying it... it was kinda cute in a its so wrong kind of way. Maybe I should go back and get it to turn it into some type of Halloween outfit. It ROCKED!!!

TOTALLY ROCKED

After four hours of shopping we finished with one Ross and we headed over to the Cheesecake Factory. All that hard work we were starving and when I get hungry, I get HUNGRY and crabby and a little bratty. Time to eat for sure. We ordered drinks, we laughed, we ordered way to much ranch to dip our bread in, Ms. Ivey rolled her eyes at my photo documenting and we ordered cheesecake... to go... because we were too full to eat it there and it is a cardinal sin to go to the Cheesecake Factory and not get cheesecake.

SO MUCH HAPPIER AFTER I ATE

After dinner we walked around the outdoor mall, poked into a few stores there and soaked up the delicious last rays of sunshine from the day. Oh Southern California, surrounded by blue skies and my two besties. How. I. Love. You!

A PERFECT DAY

And because we are insane, we went to ANOTEHR Ross just to take a peek. Just to see if there was anything maybe this one had that the other didnt. You know because we are insane. We found more to try on, another round in the changing rooms, another pile of dresses to purchase. Of course Ms. Dancer and I found the exact same dress that we both fell in love with. Its a thing with us. Of course they were in different patterns. Mine was a muted wine color and hers was a loud pattered pink. Hey it goes with our personalities.

WE ARE SO ALIKE SOMETIMES, SORT OF

We walked out of the store surprised that it was so dark out. Oh. My. Word. It was 9:30pm, way later than we had thought it would be. Shopping for 8 hours, now that is a full day of work. Seems like we lost track of time. Three girls after all could put a large dent in a store. We calculated that we tried on 254 dresses, between the three of us, and I won’t even tell you how many shoes we tried on. Not bad, not bad at all. We headed home to eat cheesecake and to have a fashion show. After that many dresses the ones we actually bought were a blur. A PURRRRR-fect day!
