Photoshoot: Baby Fruit is 3 Months Old

Today is the last day I have Baby Fruit at the house and I knew I wanted to do a photo shoot. The problem however is that I was EXAUSTED. Between the early wakeup calls and the constant attention the baby needed I just didn’t have the energy. But I reasoned I usually only regret the things I don’t do, and I did buy a new adorable outfit yesterday for him. I really had no choice. I got Baby Fruit cleaned up, diaper changed and fed, then got him in his cute little outfit, set up the lights and started clicking away. It was hard trying to get the little guy to give me some smiles and I even tried out some of the props. I only got about 20 minutes to take photos, Baby Fruit let me know when he was done... and there is no way you can take good photos of a baby who is done. I took a kabillion photos and in the end his delicious adorableness shined through. I got some great photos!

Hope you enjoy.

It is so hard for me to pick a favorite but I think I really love number six and number twelve the best. Which one is your favorite?

For this setup I used a simple cloth backdrop that Mr. Rogue and I just got. Of course I should have ironed the backdrop before I set it up... that needs to go on the to do list... because that curtain had a ton of wrinkles that I had to Photoshop out of each and every photo. ANNOYING to say the least. I also used two of our studio lights, and in hindsight I probably should have used another on the background to make it whiter and less grey, again something to remember in the future.

Then I put the baby on the newborn posing beanbag which worked out PERFECTLY. It gets the baby off the floor and up a little higher which makes eye level photos much much easier. Before I would have to try and lay on the floor to get the camera low enough. It was a pain. The new beanbag is great. I didn’t get all fancy with the blankets, other than the orange one I used in the basket; I just used one of the new standard white extra large towels for most of the shots. All babies look great on white.

And of course all the photos are retouched. I have been having a ton of fun using The Florbella Luxe collection. Of course I am also using Portraiture, a skin smoothing software. Put those two wonderful apps together and you get some truly beautiful results. AHHHH I love Photoshop!

I loved all the white with the diaper, looks so angelic! My what big eyes you have baby fruit! Then as I scrolled down, that hat looked amazing on him, and the basket shot with his arms draped over with the orange splash really shows up well. I can't choose just one, please don't make me, he's so adorable!!
