Magic Wand Defect

Today I attempted to wave my magic wand. You know, I tried to put mind over matter and magic myself better... it didn’t work in case you are wondering.

I woke up this morning feeling a bit better. The fevers have been gone for a few days, I was coughing less and since I was sure I am not contagious anymore I decided to keep my commitment to babysit for Baby Blue. Mrs. Rambo had already texted saying it wasn’t a big deal she could just bring the baby to the doctor’s office, but seriously I was feeling better and I was excited to get out of the house, so I went.

It started out ok. I took a shower, I got dressed, and I put makeup on for the first time in a week. I got to the Rambo’s house without a problem and started playing with Baby Blue with a puzzle I had brought on the floor. Momma left for her appointment without any issues. I was doing REALLY well, that is I did really well for the first hour. Things started going south after that. I guess in the hour it took me to get ready to leave my house, the half an hour drive and then the hour of babysitting I was TIRED. I just simply tried to ignore the fact that I was as weak as a newborn kitten.

Thank GOODNESS Baby Blue loves a good book. We made a pile right by the chair. I sat down and Baby Blue climbed on my lap and I read all 85 some books on their bookshelf. At least I was sitting, at least Baby Blue was super happy, and well reading didn’t take too much effort. Just when I started re-reading all the books in the pile I heard a snore.

Oh My Goodness, the universe has thrown me a bone. Baby Blue wanted to take a nap... yes indeed so did I.

I just curled up right on that chair with Baby Blue snuggled on my chest. There was NO WAY I was moving to a more comfortable position. I didn’t want to risk waking the Baby.

That half hour cat nap saved my life.

Isn't is crazy how reading to a child makes you sleepy?! What a wonderful sitter and I'm sorry you're still under the weather!
