Emergency Call

So yesterday I spent the day frolicking at Bolsa Chica, filled with the peace and quiet of nature. Twenty minutes after I arrived home I got a text from Mrs. Fruit:

“Hi what you doing?”

Now under normal circumstances this would be a completely innocuous text but then you have to take into account the Philippine culture and my sixth sense. In essence a simple how are you is a call for help. I immediately called to find out what was wrong. She was sobbing, her blood pressure had spiked too high, she had a sick 3 year old and a 5 day old baby and no way to get to the hospital. I immediately jumped in the car, told her to calm down I was on my way, and then I tried to think. Unfortunately because the Fruit’s moved 20 minutes south and we moved 20 minutes north, and because it was rush hour, it would take me over an hour to get there. Not knowing what to do, or how to get there faster I called in reinforcements.

Mrs. Rambo was much closer and she left her baby, her husband, her dinner AND her visiting mother to help out. When I arrived at the house, forty minutes after Mrs. Rambo, everything was in order.

BEAUTIFUL GIRL BEAUTIFUL SOUL LOVE THIS GIRL - GO AHEAD AND HATE HER SHE IS EVEN PRETTIER IN REAL LIFE

We ended up sitting and chatting for a while just catching up. I am so thankful for her in my life... and then I became more thankful because it was time to change the diaper. You see I have watched a ton of babies, changed a million diapers, but I have never changed a boy who was newly circumcised. YEAH!

Seems like there is some gauze, a whole lot of lubricant and some delicate coordination in changing his diaper... Mrs. Rambo came to the rescue again and changed the diaper... I handed her the gauze. Baby fed, burped and changed, it takes two BABY!

MRS. RAMBO AND I CHANGE A DIAPER

Mrs. Rambo left sometime later and I was left alone with two little sleeping angels. The Fruits didn’t come home from the hospital until nearly three in the morning, both tired. Mrs. Fruit’s blood pressure, with medication and rest everything is going to be fine. The rest part however is an issue. I stayed the rest of the night and took care of Baby Fruit. He is a super sweet and good baby. Like clockwork every two hours it’s time to feed, time to change and then time to sleep again.

SWEET BABY FRUIT SUCH A GOOD BABY

In the morning we all sat down. The easiest way to give Mrs. Fruit some time to sleep and rest was the topic of the conversation. In the end I ended up taking Mrs. Bambi home with me again for a long weekend.
