The Art of Denial

With the kittens, the packing and the house buying process gone wrong I have so much to do I am almost paralyzed with where to begin. Earlier today, as I sat trying to figure out where to start ... work on bank paperwork? ... give my cat his medication? ... pack another 30 boxes?... go grocery shopping? ... get out of my pajamas? ... I got dragged in to something completely irrelevant. I started to clean out the garage and then before I could make a significant dent I moved on to organizing the things in the storage room which led me to wondering how so much dirt could end up in the greenhouse. Which led me to adding more things to my growing list of things to do before I can rent this house. Which led me to calling cleaning crews and getting estimates on how much it would cost to come and make the house presentable. Which led me to talking to various moving companies and trying to con them into finishing my packing for me. Which left me with estimates reaching astronomical amounts.

How did I cope with the stress... I ate sugar. Lesson learned, the more you look, the more you see that needs to be done. Seeing means being poor. So the next time I get the urge to go off my to do list for the day I am going to grab a snickers and close my eyes.

isn't it amazing how much STUFF we all accumulate over time? Just take one task at a time and keep to that list AND NO SNICKERS either!
