The Sunday Skinny: Week 21

Week 15 of my weight loss journey and I was doing great. Fantastic you might even say. I was consistently losing 2-3 pounds a week, I was eating right and I was exercising every single day. I felt so good about myself, my weight loss and I was accomplishing my goals. LOOK AT ME I KICK BUTT! My clothes were fitting better, I was getting compliments about how much better I was looking and I WAS HAPPY.

But then the stress crept in and I started little cheats. I would steal a couple of French fries. I would eat some of the bread at a restaurant until pretty soon, aka this whole week, I was cheating all the time. To be honest I haven’t gotten on the elliptical in six days and every single day at least one of my meals has been terrible. I started buying “goodies” again, and if the goodies are in the house I am going to eat them. In fact there is a half eaten pumpkin pie in my refrigerator. I talked myself into buying it because it was fall, and well pumpkin pie and fall go hand in hand.

So I gained six pounds back. Six pounds that I let slowly ooze back onto my body; six pounds that I worked SO HARD to get off. I need a cage that I can lock myself into for six months so I can lose this weight and come out transformed.

In all reality though I need to TEACH myself how to fall off the horse and then get right back-on. As of right now I do really well for a while, then something happens, I fall off the horse and then for the next few weeks I stuff my face with Twinkies. Balance... I need some friggin balance.

FRUSTRATED is my middle name right now!

Weight Gain Round 5: 210 pounds. 20 pounds gained when I lost the baby.

Weight Gain Round 4: 190 pounds. I lost weight for the wedding and then I gained it all back plus an additional 10 pounds. The wedding gave me a date to reach for but once that day passed all my plans fell apart and the bingeing started again. BLAST IT!!!

Weight Gain Round 3: 180 pounds. When my brother passed away I started bingeing regularly to cover my emotions and gained another 30 pounds.

Weight Gain Round 2: 150 pounds. I gained 15 pounds when I tackled that large project at work and worked all those long hours for a year.

Weight Gain Round 1: 135 pounds. I gained the inevitable ‘I’m in a comfy relationship’ 10 pounds after I started dating my husband.

Start weight when I moved to California 125.

GOAL WEIGHT = 135-150 pounds

I know exactly how you feel! I gained 10 pounds while in Michigan and Indy and am still working it back off. Seems it's so easy to put the weight on and excruciatingly slow getting it back off. Oh Why do we torture ourselves so much. You will prevail, I'm sure as I will. TOO!
