Some Much Needed Vitamin D

Mr. Rogue and I have been trying to motivate each other toward goals that will continue our relationship to remain strong. Time for us always seems to be the main culprit. With his busy job it is difficult to find some time for us as well as make sure that we don’t get swamped in things that we have to do. We want to make conscious choices and strive for a balance between wants and needs.

One of our recent goals is to get outside once a week. I go hiking during the week often but Mr. Rogue is often stuck behind a desk for a million hours a week. There is actually a really sad fact that the employees at his work sometimes get Vitamin D deficiencies. As in the fact that they are not getting enough sun.

HERE COMES THE SUN DO DO DO DO

Of course this happens to people in areas where the sun never comes out but almost never in LALA land. SIGH. Basically the men just work too much. So we are striving to fit our quality ‘us’ time, exercise and get Mr. Rogue some much needed sunshine.

BOARDWALK THROUGH SAN JOAQUIN

This week we ventured out to San Joaquin , a hidden gem in Orange County, this sanctuary is mostly untamed marshland, winding paths and a little quiet from the bustle of the city just outside. With 11 miles of trails to explore Mr. Rogue and I were happy just being outside. Simply close your eyes and you will hear nothing of the city; no cars, no crowds... just blessed silence. It is so peaceful and I love it here.

YOU CAN SEE THE CITY BUT YOU CANNOT HEAR IT

I love that Mr. Rogue and I share photography as a hobby and this time I was chasing the birds as Mr. Rogue was photographing the landscapes. We are a good team and I appreciate him so much.

HERE BIRDY BIRDY BIRDY

We didnt want to wake up too early on one of Mr. Rogues only days to sleep in so we took the afternoon shift. Hiking early or later in the day gives you the best soft light and although you can see more wildlife in the mornings than the afternoons we still found a few interesting things.

THE SUN TURNED EVERYTHING PINK AS IT SANK BELOW THE SKY

Once the sun started setting we took off for home, had a great meal and then snuggled on the couch for a movie. Life is grand when you set your goals together and make time for the one you love the most.
