Hollywood Bowl... I HEART YOU!

Mr. Rogue and I met up with the newly married Dancers for a night out at the Hollywood Bowl, one of my favourite places for concerts in LALA land. We both packed our picnic baskets full of goodies and wine, parked in Hollywood at Mrs. Dancers work and then walked up the hill to the bowl... in essence avoiding the crush of traffic parking at the bowl. And the exercise did us all good too.

MR. ROGUE AND I AT THE BOWL

The Hollywood bowl is known for its stage, a pyramidal shell which is basically a distinctive set of concrete arches that allow the music played on stage to be projected toward the audience.

The “bowl” refers to the shape of the natural concave hillside that saw its first concert in 1922. Benches and seats are scattered in tiers up the hillside allowing everyone a good look at the stage.

Sarah McLachlan was playing for the first time ever at the bowl. Her awesome music coupled with Mrs. Dancer and my love of her and the fact that she was playing with the symphony made this a MUST SEE in our book.

MRS. DANCER AND I WERE SUPER EXCITED

Sarah was incredible live. Some artists sing live and I cannot even compare them to the albums they create. Sarah is a true performer and her angelic voice was even better live. We all had an absolutely incredible time.

One of my all time favourite parts about the Hollywood Bowl other than the fact that you get to bring your own picnic and wine in to much on while you are watching the concerts is the fact that this is a comfortable outdoor venue. There is something about listening to incredible music under the stars that makes the whole evening that more magical. Hollywood Bowl... I HEART YOU!
