Yellowstone & Grand Tetons: A Flower Kissed By Dew

I am not a super flower nut like I am a bird nut, however with that being said I do love pretty flowers and when there were so many flowers out coupled with long wait times for animals to visit I spent some time with the softer side of the parks. I had brought my macro lens without really knowing why. What I do know is that when I want a lens, and I own that lens but don’t have it with me it kinda makes my right eye twitch in and not in a pretty way but in a ‘she may be an axe murder’ kind of way. So I packed it and lucky me I did, I managed to get some great shots.

PUSSYTOES – YES THAT IS ITS ACTUAL NAME - I CAN SO SEE THIS AS A FUNNY NAME FOR A CAT

AN UN-KNOWN FLOWER HOWEVER THAT DIDNT HELP ME FROM LOVING THIS SHOT, THE SUN HAD JUST STARTED TO SET AND HIGHLIGHTED ONLY THE TALLEST OF THE BUNCH

THE MOST UNIQUE FLOWER, THE YELLOW MONKEY FLOWER LIKES TO GROW ONLY NEAR THERMAL WATERS – YOU CAN IMAGINE THERE WERE MILLIONS OF THESE PLANTS IN YELLOWSTONE

And by far my favourite photo was of the bluebells. It was one of the super early mornings where I was trying to see the wolves. The dew was covering everything; the sun came up and light up the millions of drops of water like tiny diamonds. I fell in love with this photo when I took it and I still love it now. Of course everyone at the sight was laughing because I had to lie down in the very wet grass to get this shot, but that is the price we pay. I may frame this one.

I'm not sure you'd really want to be running through the neighborhood crying "HERE PUSSY TOES!" Can you imagine? lol.

shooting star is my fave of this post :) I too am becoming interested in flowers, only because they are a rarity in my house and want something pretty for myself and can also teach lilman about gardening. Whoa run-on sentence.
