Dancer Wedding: Rehearsal & Dinner

Today is the day before Ms. Dancer (my bff’s) wedding and so as usual the rehearsal for the wedding party was today. For most of us, hey we are all in our thirties after all, this is a simple walkthrough of what most of us already know. The most important thing is to know where you have to stand. Since the girls are going to be carrying parasols we had to make sure to give about an arms length between.

The sun was BLAZING and we were all more than a little thankful that tomorrow, the day of the wedding, was supposed to be a little overcast. The boys were practicing their cool looks... although tomorrow sun glasses have been banned.

Ms. Dancers dad walked her down the aisle and the officiate did a quick overview of service.

Mr. Rogue came along and snapped a few photos. One of my favourites was one where Ms. Dancer and her man practiced holding hands... I am sooooo going to cry tomorrow when she gets married.

After rehearsal Ms. Dancers parents threw a dinner back at the family house for the 50 or some odd people that had arrived into town already. The food spread was remarkable; Beef tenderloin, cold veggies salad, fingerling potatoes, bread and cheese.

That coupled with the massive amounts of alcohol and tons of friends and family created a fun if not somewhat crazy mix.

Mr. Rogue has been working pretty hard and I was so ecstatic to have the entire weekend with him, NO WORK, whoooo hooo.

When I asked him to show the camera how happy HE was not having to work the whole weekend the smile that lit his face was PRICELESS.

I knew a good majority of the people there, having been best friends with Ms. Dancer for so long, and the family trips that I sometimes went with them on. I also had a chance to meet Mr. Dancer’s immediate family on our trip to Europe last year. While in London we actually stayed with his parents and got to spend a dinner with his sister as well.

MR. DANCER AND HIS SISTER

As well as the family there were a whole group of us that all graduated from the same high school. Eight of us at a wedding in Charleston South Carolina, even though we all grew up together as kids in Michigan only a few of us have stayed there.

Then there was also the group from work where the happy soon to be married couple met. Although the company we all worked at eventually closed all of us still keep in touch.

My two favourite people at the party, other than Mr. Rogue (hey he's my main man), is of course the bride to be. A 20 year friendship still going strong.

And Ms. Ivey, we have been best friends for 23 years. I am so thankful for these two women who have been there for more than half my life.

MS. IVEY THE PAST TWO YEARS HAS BEEN BAREABLE BECAUSE OF YOU

Ms. Dancer gathered all her bridesmaids together to give us all a gift for standing up in her wedding. Each of us received a tote filled with fun stuff. Mine is a dark navy blue with the words “Je T’aime”, which means ‘I love you’ scrawled across the front... AWWWW thanks Ms. Dancer I love you too!

After yet another long exhausting day I was finally able to crawl into bed around midnight. Tomorrow is the wedding and if I wasn’t so tired I don’t think I would be able to sleep for the excitement of it all.

Ms. Dancer’s getting married in the morning!
