At Least 30 Sugar Free Days

I don’t know about you but I feel like I consume way to much sugar. Whether it is very obvious sugar like the cake you have after a meal or if it is simply way to many carbs, I adore pasta, sadly sugar or high fructose corn syrup is in everything. So sugar and corn syrup and even aspartame (bye bye Diet Coke) are being kicked out of my life for the next 30 days and I am hoping I will feel so good that I can do 60 days. I am doing it with a friend, say Hi Ms. Eden, so I am hoping the constant encouraging texts we throw each other as we struggle through this challenge helps.

Some alarming facts. In 1915 the national average of sugar consumption per year was around 15-20 pounds per person. Today the average person consumes their weight in sugar PLUS 20 pounds of corn syrup. Refined sugar by some is considered a drug... we just can’t get enough. So I am going on a food regime that is primarily meat, veggies and fruit; foods that humans have been eating for eons.

Today is only the second day and other than some major cravings and a tiny headache it hasn’t been so bad. I have read after the first three days it gets easier, that the sugar cravings start to subside and a whole new level of energy is found. I also read that your taste buds drastically change.

Well wish me luck I will keep you posted.

White sugar is the cause of so many ailments Americans face today - good job to both you and Ms Eden.
