Indianapolis, IN: Baby Mania

One of the perks of visiting Indianapolis to see my brother and his family is that we have other extended family that live there as well. And since many of the girls just had brand new babies it was totally a two for one deal; we got to see so much family and I got to hold some delicious little cherubs.

We went to my aunt’s house for some home cooked Mexican food. Actually the main dish was made by my sister-in-law, and there was a side dip made by my mother, but the rice, the home and the always prefect hospitality was provided by my aunt and uncle. My sister-in-law made a million enchiladas that rocked the house. So tasty... this girl can sure cook!

But although the food was good I couldn’t help but be overwhelmed by something else. As soon as we walked in the door I was magnetized to the little baby. She is about 4 months old

I COULD HAVE HELD HER ALL NIGHT SHE WAS SO GOOD

Her mom asked me to take a few photos. Babies are always so difficult to photo. You don’t want to flash them too much, its hard to get them to look directly into the camera and you need to take a ton of breaks. But then out of the blue you will get that one great shot where everything comes together.

SHE HAS THE MOST BEAUTIFUL BLUE EYES

I took a couple photos of the whole family and I really liked this one the best. Just look at that adorable little rosebud mouth.

THOSE ARE SOME HAPPY PARENTS

Near the end of the night, after being nursed, mom and baby grabbed a quick cuddle. The moment was so precious, this photo brings tears to my eyes.

MOM AND BABY, WHAT A PERFECT LOVE

During dinner we were all catching up on what we were all doing in life. I brought up my wish to take the 3 day breast walk. Yea I said breast walk and everyone burst out laughing. What I meant to say was the 3 Day Breast Cancer walk. I blame the fact that the t-shirt I was looking at buying for that weekend said ‘Breasts for Life’. I really would love to do the walk but I have to wait to find out if I get pregnant and if I am how pregnant I will be. 60 miles and 6 months pregnant would not be good. Maybe I will just volunteer this year instead.

After dinner we headed over to another house for desert and to see the second baby. This one was only 6 days old and so tiny.

MY TIME WILL COME SOON

Because this little one was so tiny I didn’t want to use the flash at all. Many of the photos came out blurry but every now and again there would be one that was clear.

JUST LOOK AT THOSE TINY FEATURES

My aunt made a suggesting to get a photo of mom and dads hands cradling the babies. I love how it really shows you the size difference. Just look at that tiny hand.

All these babies and smiling parents made me urn that much more for a little one of my own but I was happy to spend just a little time basking in their happiness.

So nice of you to burn a CD for the girls, but Tom is my cousin, your second cousin. Although I wish he were your uncle - he's like a brother to me.
