Bowling Family Time

My parents of course read my blog and they commented on a recent bowling post with Ms. Little. Apparently when I was young and on a bowling league I bowled with the wrong foot. Of course I remember I don’t bowl correctly, I remember my father trying to help me fix it, but it was one of those things that get pushed back really far in the memory banks. That one comment brought back not only my chagrin at not bowling ‘correctly’ but also the hundreds of hours in my childhood spent at the bowling alley.

So today, when my parents came to visit and we had a few hours to kill we decided to drop into the bowling alley.

DADDY IS THE BEST BOWLER EVER AT LEAST IN MY EYES HE IS

I remember not only being on my own league but being with my parents when they were on their league. Dad always had the best spin and I could never ever quite get the spin right.

I have always been a straight shooter type of girl. I line up and throw without a curve and normally not very hard either.

We only stayed for two games and neither my father nor I did amazing. Mom sat on the sidelines and cheered us on! She was the best cheerleader ever until we missed. This girl does not have a problem telling you how it is. It’s all about the soft love when you need it and the tough love when you need that too.

Somehow I was always a pretty decent bowler even if I bowl with the wrong foot, in a straight line and without a ton of strength. Sometimes different is good, and I have never had a problem walking a road less traveled, to the beat of my own little drum.

You even got a strike with your own personal form - hey, if it works, why fix it?
