Sand is Irresistible

We got back from Mexico and the whole Painter family is in town and staying with us for the next week for the Thanksgiving holiday. With family living so far away it is great when we finally get together, although a bit of a handful having five houseguests when all you want to do is sleep. In order to get some energy expelled from the younger kids we took everyone to the beach.

Although only 68 degrees and too cold to swim we bundled everyone up and let them run and play in the sand.

I love these kids!

It is amazing what a bit of sand can do for a child, the possibilities are ENDLESS. One particular little sand cliff was irresistible to the littlest Painter, Mr. Dragon.

Ready... Set... GO

He must have jumped a hundred times before finally giving up to race to dig holes.

I guess the only thing better than cliffs of sand are holes in sand.

Ms. Fairy, the middle Painter child, was more interested in the water even though it was FREEZING COLD!!!!

Well the water and of course collecting sea shells.

Mr. Rogue and I just leisurely walked the beach arm and arm. Both of us grew up away from the ocean so it still holds a bit of wonder and a special place in our hearts.

I love this man!

I love how you "bundled up" in 68 degree weather. two words: suck it. I'm sure they loved every minute of the beach!
