Europe: Photo Phriday: Not All Ceilings Were Created Equal

The thing I adored the most about the Vatican Museum were the stunning amount of gorgeous ceiling art. Every room had its own character, carved, metal, plaster, painted... ceilings, those things we paint pure white and completely ignore in the states for the Vatican was a valuable space to display more art. It kind of makes me want to go through my house and paint all the ceilings.

So for my love of these ceilings I have dedicated this Photo Phriday JUST to the ceilings of the Vatican. I hope you enjoy!

It is amazing how busy everything is, but it all works!! LOVE the details, the paintings, the sculptures and the tapestries (even though you didn't show it here). When I was there in 1999, the last tapestry school was closing it's doors. No one seemed to fathom being able to dedicate ones life to ONE rug! It took sooo long to make them.
