Va Va Voom a Computer Room

I have finally finished one of the rooms that we just finished construction on. It took longer than I thought it would but I was having trouble finding just the right pieces to complete it. I would rather wait until I find the right thing then just slop something in there. Now that it is done I have a big sigh of relief… now only two more rooms to go.

We have both Mr. Rogue’s computer (on the right) and my computer (on the left in this room). The curtains are actually the ones that used to hang in the kitchen. My husband and I have been talking on and off over the past year of getting blinds in the kitchen. So we took down the curtains in the kitchen and used the rods in the new bedrooms. Since we have plantation wood blinds on order I decided that the kitchen curtains would work perfectly in the computer room.

I bought the painting above my desk over 5 years ago and it has moved quite a bit around Los Angeles with me, I really love it. For the past two years it has sat sadly in our storage room. When we were discussing color themes for the new constructed rooms I remembered this painting. We actually choose the color of this room, a celery green, to compliment the painting.

I nabbed this pot at a thrift store for a steal hoping that when I got home it was the correct tone and would fit my potted plant. It PERFECTLY complements the painting and looks wonderful on my desk, I was so excited.

Along the side wall next to my computer I put up a pin board for photos, my bird calendar and memorabilia. I really enjoy the living art that mood boards and pin boards bring to a room they always change and bring such lovely memories.

Sometimes the littlest things make you so happy. I adore this ancient sea monster/whale that I got at Anthropologie. I put it right on my desk next to my computer and it makes me smile every day!

On the filing cabinet against the back wall I have one of my potted orchids I raise in my green house. It is perched on a glass mosaic candle plate my niece got us for Christmas. My constantly playing Bose iPod docking station (which gives the BEST sound) sits next to a new obsession of mine, the Ginger and Citrus scented candle by Essential Elements. Whenever I light it I feel like I have to step up into the room and float my way to my desk on its heavenly aroma. It is AWSOME!

Of course the dogs are also represented in the room since I spend quite a bit of time in here. A dog bed and a basket of toys share our space. After a month of looking I finally found this dog bed at Costco. A green, cream and beige stripped extra large bed that looks perfect.

I am so excited to be done with this computer room, now on to the bathroom and exercise room!
