Happy Easter

Whew, I have been running since early this morning and I am exhausted. Mr. Rogue’s parents are in town to celebrate the Easter holiday and to see Mr. Rogue’s uncle compete in some ballroom dancing competitions next week. We all made it to the 11:00am mass, Mr. Rogue stayed in bed since he did not get home until 6:30am this morning, I was a little sad he didn’t make it to church but the poor man needed some much needed rest. I am glad that we made it to the church early because by the time mass started it was PACKED.

After the service we headed back to the house to get the ham in the oven. Mom, Mr. Rogue and I made an orange marmalade glaze for the ham, scalloped potatoes, some brown sugar glazed carrots and rolls. While the ham was cooking we even managed to dye some lovely Easter eggs.

Sitting around the table surrounded by some family made me miss those large family gatherings I had back home, before I moved a million miles away. I wish I could have everyone I love over but for now I will just count the blessings and family that we do have and hope that someday those large family gatherings will be possible again.

Things can never be quite the same when everyone starts moving all around the country. Unfortunately, I've lost four members of my immediate family so holidays will never be the BIG gatherings we once enjoyed. One of the joys of getting older, I guess. LOVE YOU!
