Taste Buds: The Turkey Burger

I have never been a huge burger fan but these Turkey burgers are just so super yummy that I have been converted. It took a couple of different attempts to get a recipe that I like, one that is good for you as well as tasty! And since my husband is MIA (working constantly) and I cannot be bothered to learn how to use the huge grill outside (that is the man’s domain) I have broiled these in the oven which works perfectly and keeps the burgers juicier than cooking them outside.

   RECIPE: THE TURKEY BURGER
INGREDIENTS
2 tablespoons chopped fresh Italian parsley
½ lb lean turkey meat
salt and pepper to taste
½ tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
1 clove pressed garlic
1 tablespoon of goat cheese
a few slices of red onion
whole wheat hamburger buns

DIRECTIONS
1. In medium bowl mix together the parsley, turkey, salt, pepper, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, garlic and goat cheese; make sure to mix well and break up the cheese so it is dispersed evenly throughout the meat. Make two equal sized patties.
2. Broil for 5-6 min on each side until done.


2 servings - calories 253 per burger plus bun and toppings
