Lighting is one of the first things you learn about as an artist. It is so crucial to painting, architecture, acting and photography that it often can make or break a piece of art. This week, in an effort to work on getting my food photography better I decided to focus on the light in my home. In particular I was focusing on times of day and different locations in my house to achieve different moods and attempt to figure out what was working and what was not working. What I came up with, using the subject matter of an apple in three different locations in my home, made me really appreciate and understand some new points about light.
