Nerdy Birdy: A Tiny Step

Today Mr. Rogue and I went on a hike and of course like we always do the cameras came along and we had a wonderful day outdoors. The only thing different this time however is that I could not keep my eyes off the sky and trees. I have been bit by the bird bug and I am going to listen. I did a bunch of research and found out that California is home to some 600 different species of bird and that the wonderful state I ended up in has some of the best bird watching from the forests of Northern California to the deserts of Southern California.

Over the past few days I have been compiling a list of birds, which I am FINALLY finished with, that you can find in California, I came up with 697 and I am going to find as many of them as I can. I am not setting a timelimit on myself nor am I going to boast that I will find them all, but I am hoping to use my newfound enthusiasm to learn much more about the aviation world of California.

Here are some of my favourite photos of the day.

Beautiful bird pix! I am so jealous! We'll have to go birding when I visit again.
