Fulfilling #99 Don’t Eat Meat for a Month

I am still away on my cruise but today is my first official day of my thirty days practicing Lacto-ovo Vegetarianism. There are many different types of vegetarian but I am going to consume milk and milk products, in addition to plant-based foods. I will be omitting red meat, fish and poultry. For the past few weeks I have been doing a lot of research on making sure that I have a balanced diet and collecting many great vegetarian recipes that I am excited to try.

I am not sure how I am going to do with this challenge, especially suck on a boat with all you can eat buffets and extravagant menus, I wonder if I am going to stare longingly at the meat coolers at the grocery store, or if I am going like this so much that I keep it on forever. You see I love vegetables and fruit and I eat a ton of it. Generally I never have meat for breakfast or lunch so the only hard thing will be to make delicious enough dinners that I don’t even miss the meat on the plate.

I was a little worried however because I am the main cook in the family right now and there are two other people in the house whom I was planning on making a meat side to all the meals I make. But when I explained what I was planning for the next month both Mr. Rogue and Mr. Fruit decided that they would also like to try it. Hurrah for trying new things, for pushing my boundaries and for inevitably appreciating the different sides of life.

You can do it! I was a vegetarian for a long time and really enjoyed it. Although I did eat seafood. But you shouldn't be eating it anyways! Morning Star meatless corn dogs are the best things ever.

I love the photos of the two churches. Looks like a few of your friends can help you with some alternative choices to meat eating goodness.
